UVEA

Uveitis, a form of eye inflammation, causes pain, redness, and blurry vision. Sometimes, a patient’s eyes also get swollen. It develops in the middle layer of the eye where UVEA lies beneath the white part of the eye. There is no known reason for having Uveitis. But, the experts found the probable causes of this disease, such as an injury to the eye, a bacterial infection, and some underlying diseases which can damage the tissue of the eye.

What Are The Types of Uveitis?

• Anterior: Anterior Uveitis is the most common type of Uveitis which causes inflammation in the front of the eye. The people who are going through Anterior Uveitis have:

• Arthritis.

• Gastrointestinal Disorders.

• Infections with the Herpes.

• Autoimmune Diseases etc.

• Intermediate: We see that most of the young adults are suffering from Intermediate Uveitis. It causes inflammation in the middle of their eyes. This disease occurs just because of:

• Multiple Sclerosis- It is a long-lasting disease of the central nervous system. 

• Sarcoidosis- It is a systemic inflammatory disease that can affect various organs in your body.

• Posterior: Posterior Uveitis, a least common form, can affect the inner parts (Retina, Optic Nerve, & Choroid) of your eye. The potential causes of this disease include:

• Birdshot Chorioretinopathy (Chronic Inflammation of the eye).

• Herpes Virus.

• Sarcoidosis.
• Tuberculosis etc.

• Panuveitis: Panuveitis Uveitis, a severe condition, can affect all the three layers of your eye. It is responsible for permanent vision loss. People with this disease have probable causes like:

• Bacterial Retinitis.

• Viral Retinitis (Vision Threatening Infectious Disease of the Retina).

• Syphilis (Sexually Transmitted Infectious Disease).

• Tuberculosis (TB) etc.
